Yomogi® and Yomogi® 250 mg – dosage and recommendations for use
After taking Yomogi or Yomogi 250 mg, high counts of non-pathogenic viable yeast cells (S. boulardii) reach the intestine. S. boulardii does not colonise the intestinal tract. For this reason, S. boulardii is no longer detectable in the stools 4 to 6 days after the medication has been discontinued.
Yomogi is generally dosed as follows:
Diarrhea:
Take 1-2 hard gelatine capsules Yomogi daily with a sufficient amount of liquid before meals.
For the prophylaxis of travellers' diarrhea:
Take 1-2 hard gelatine capsules Yomogi daily for 5 days prior to departure.
NOTE: Children under 6 years
Children under 6 years of age should take the hard gelatine capsule Yomogi as follows: open up the two halves of the capsule and stir the contents into food or a liquid (room temperature).
